A. David Pelletier

A. David Pelletier is an Executive Vice-President of RGA Reinsurance Company.

After several years with Manulife Financial during the 1970's, Mr. Pelletier moved to actuarial and management consulting with Towers Perrin in Canada, Latin America and Europe, during which he was responsible at various times for its activity in Brazil, Argentina and Italy.

Returning to Canada in 1991, he served as managing principal for the Canadian life insurance consulting practice of Tillinghast-Towers Perrin and consulted actively to the life industry in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, statutory valuation (serving four companies as Appointed Actuary), product development and distribution issues.

In 1995, he moved to RGA Life Reinsurance Company of Canada, where, in 2003, he was appointed President & CEO. He held that role until 2006, when he was appointed an Executive Vice-President within RGA Reinsurance Company, with responsibilty for the development and implementation of an integrated proprietary administration system internationally. In 2007, he moved into his current role, assigned to lead and provide support to various priority client-oriented projects. He has also traveled extensively for RGA to explore or support the development of reinsurance opportunities in foreign markets.

Mr. Pelletier is a graduate of McGill University and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and of the Society of Actuaries. He is a Past President of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, as well as a former Chair of the Canadian Reinsurance Conference. While President and CEO of RGA Life Reinsurance Company of Canada, he served as a Director of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association and chaired its Member Services and Reinsurance Committees. He is currently a member of the Board of Advisors of McGill University's Faculty of Science and has served in the past on the boards of the Institute of Insurance and Pension Research of the University of Waterloo and the Câmara de Comércio Brasil-Canadà in São Paulo.

He has been a speaker at numerous conferences and seminars sponsored by a variety of business, professional and educational organizations in over 20 countries, on five continents and in four languages.

Mike DeKoning

Mike joined Munich Re in January, 2008 to take on the role of President and CEO of the US Life Reinsurance business for Munich Re. This covers all lines of business, including Ordinary Life, Group Life & Disability, Long Term Care and Individual Disability. As one of the largest Life Reinsurers in the US, Munich strives to be a disciplined, client focussed Reinsurer that sets itself apart from its competition by offering the most complete line of reinsurance coverages. Mike has accountability for all aspects of Munich American Re's business and sits on the Board of the Company and its subsidiaries which include LifePlans, one of the largest Underwriting, Claims and Administration TPA's serving the Long Term Care market.

Previous to joining Munich, Mike was with a large International Insurance Organization for almost 20 years in a variety of roles. An Actuary by training, Mike held roles of increasing responsibility in a variety of Canadian, US Group, US Individual and Reinsurance business units. Mike's experience with this company included being the CFO of a direct marketing Insurance unit in Canada, line management responsibility of a large Reinsurance business unit and a role in Risk Management, where he had worldwide accountability for product risk, underwriting risk, the development of Economic Capital models and for procuring all of the company's insurance and reinsurance covers (D&O liability, Property and Catastrophic Life covers).

Mike is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science and a Major in Economics. He is also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Ross Morton

Ross Morton has spent 37 years in the life reinsurance world and throughout that time has played a very visible role in the life insurance industry in Canada and the world. Ross has made the transition from executive of major international companies to independent advisor very easily. His services, best described as mentor, advisor and reassurer, are now available globally to companies, governments or individuals wanting assistance with a variety of specific tasks from the life broker producer to the most senior of executives in insurers. Ross retains strong ties to RGA in its global risk management.

Ross was recently awarded the LOMA Education Award at the 2005 LOMA conference in Orlando, Florida. He is only the 22nd winner of the award that "was created more than 20 years ago and recognizes outstanding contributions to LOMA's professional education programs. It is the highest honor LOMA can bestow on an individual in the insurance and financial services industry."

Robin Merttens

Cambridge educated, Robin has been working in the insurance industry since 1986. As Group Solicitor at Lowndes Lambert, he held a key role in the MBO and subsequent IPO and later worked on the £250m MBO of Heath Lambert. When he left Heath Lambert in May 2000 to help found RI3K, he was Managing Director of Heath Lambert Overseas.

Robin has been Chief Operating Officer since the formation of RI3K and in that role supervises all operational issues, focusing on client relationships and ensuring that the RI3K service development fully meets their requirements.

Terri DiFlorio

Terri DiFlorio, President, Hub Financial Inc. is responsible for the direction and success of Canada's largest MGA operation, in addition to Hub's Mutual Fund dealership. Hub Financial represents all major Canadian brokerage companies and provides marketing and administrative services to over 3,000 independent advisors across Canada. The company has been built on a solid value proposition that adds depth and expertise to their advisors practices.

Terri started her career in the life insurance industry in 1986. She spent 12 years at Financial Life before going to Unity Life Assurance in the fall of 1998. She has been the President of Hub Financial Inc. and Hub Capital Inc. since the fall of 2000.

The experience in both manufacturing and distribution helps her have a unique perspective in our industry.

Terri is an FLMI and is currently working towards her Chartered Financial Planner designation.
